| dc.description.abstract | Esta tese analisa as representações de gênero e raça, presentes no acervo de 110 obras que integram o Programa Nacional Biblioteca da Escola do ano de 1999. Para tanto ela toma aportes dos Estudos de gênero e dos Estudos Culturais para dar conta de como tais representações se articulam para engendrar branquidade, negritude, masculinidade e feminilidade presentes no acervo. Discuto e analiso essas representações considerando que elas se engendram em processos de significação que nomeei de reificação da branquidade, radialização da negritude, masculonormatização e periferização da feminilidade. Com isso delineio, também, algumas das estratégias discursivas que operacionalizam esses processos de racialização e generificação nas obras e, a partir dessa análise, argumento que eles sinalizam para a manutenção/reificação dos discursos que colocam a identidade masculina, branca, adulta como padrão de referência para a hierarquização e subordinação das demais identidades raciais e de gênero.

This thesis analyses the representations of gender and race, present in the 110 books, composing the collection of literary works for a national school library book distribution program in Brazil, locally called: Programa Nacional Biblioteca da Escola, for the year of 1999. To achieve this, gender and cultural studies were employed to understand how such representations are associated to assemble the whiteness, blackness, masculinity and feminity that are present in this book selection. I discuss and analyze such representations considering that they are built on signification processes that I have named reificação da branquidade, radialização da negritude, masculonormatização e periferização da feminilidade (rectification of whiteness, negritude radialization, normalization of masculinity and peripheralization of feminity). In doing so, I also trace some of the strategic policies that operate such racialization and genderization processes in the selected books; and, based on this analyses, I discuss that such works signal to the maintenance/rectification of the discourse that sets the masculine, white, adult identity as the reference standard for hierarchicalization and subordination of the other racial and gender identities. | en_US |
