El chisme y las representaciones sociales de género y sexualidad en estudiantes adolescentes

Abstract

Este documento es resultado de una investigación realizada con estudiantes adolescentes que cursan el nivel medio superior en la Universidad Autónoma Chapingo (UACH) , la cual imparte ingenierías en ciencias agronómicas y afines. El número de estudiantes varones es prácticamente tres veces superior al de las mujeres y ambos conviven en sus actividades escolares de tiempo completo. El objeto del trabajo es conocer el papel que juega el chisme entre esta población, así como las representaciones sociales que, por su mediación, se tienen sobre los papeles de género y sexualidad. Analizamos diversos aspectos en torno a los efectos del chisme y las relaciones de poder y violencia que supone esta práctica en la vida cotidiana de los estudiantes.

=== === ABSTRACT === === This paper results from research conducted among teenager students of the senior high school of the Universidad Autónoma Chapingo (UACH), an agronomical college where the number of male students is three times higher than that of female students. Both boys and girls spend most of the day together since they are full time students and live on campus. The objective of this paper is to examine the role of gossip among the student population, as well as the social representations they have about gender and sexuality. We analyze the impact of gossip and the relations of power and violence involved in which result from this every day practice.
